This week we are focusing on girls and our monthly visitor. That visitor that makes some for us really frustrated and irritated with our bodies and also make us cancel a lot of plans. Most of us wish it would just disappear. Well for now, we will be talking about things you should and shouldn’t do during that time of the month.

I know how much girls love to fill their mouths with food during their periods but there are certain food you should avoid such as processed food, spicy food, candy and some snacks etc. Don’t worry, dark chocolate is fine, you can enjoy that. Also some fruits like watermelon should be added to you list.

Next is period pain/cramps which is completely normal excepts it lasts through out the process of your cycle and sometimes even few days after. If this has happened a couple of times, I highly advice you consult your doctor. Also consult your doctor if the pain is to intense to deal with, not that something might be wrong, he/she will just help with effective Pain killers to make the process more bearable

Sanitary pads, as said in most sanitary pad packs, product shouldn’t be used for more than 6 hours, same goes for tampons. Not only does is it unhealthy, it can lead to bacteria which can cause bad odour, it also results to skin rashes and TSS (Toxic Shock syndrome). Avoid all this by changing your bad between 4 to 6 hours.

Lastly, rest enough and hang in there. It would be over in a few days and if it gets too much in your head remember at least 99% of girls pass through it and the remaining 1% are wishing they can.

Love, Minty.
