There’s always something in the air at the beginning of a new year. But like a friend of mine says, isn’t it just another walk around the sun?
Anyways, happy new year from all of us at Twenties Live.
Moving on. It’s another round of pressure, motivation, planning and a sprinkle of new year’s resolution but what about the resolutions that weren’t met last year?
I know we’re all hyped about a seeming chance to “start over” but realistically, this is a continuation of what was before.
Two or three weeks in and the buzz of a new year dies down and what’s left is you and your reality to deal with.
So take your time with the goals you’ve been working on and ponder on them. What have you gained? What have you lost? What do you think you need to do differently? What should you work on?
And instead of new resolutions, put all the pressure on those.
Live.
Personally, I’m a stoic believer in romanticizing life. And you know what I think? I think we should all romanticize our lives. Capture every moment that you feel. Whether it’s the one that makes you feel alive, the one that brings the corniest grin to your face or even the ones that make you laugh the loudest.
Live.
Make your life a romantic poem that’s soothing to hear. Make your story that catchy one that the reader can’t turn away until they’re at the end.
Allow yourself live.
Invest in yourself. Do your skincare. Eat better (this even feels like a shade to me but who cares? let’s do it!). Take the best care of yourself. Everyone matters and everything matters, but you matter the most.
So allow yourself live. Treat yourself as a major priority while you care for everyone else. And if you haven’t been doing these things, here’s a seeming chance at a fresh start to go harder at self care.
Attend that party, visit that library (I know different things work for different people so, pick your poison and live it to your fullest).
Create a healthy pattern for yourself, work wise, school related and even with your relationships. Keep in mind that you’re priority as well as everyone you normally treat well, so be good to yourself.
Journal, write, keep records of everything you do so you can hold yourself accountable too.
Soak yourself in the warmth of the sun and let the pouring of the rain drench and refresh you.
Live to the fullest.
Just Live.
Love.
How does the idea of daily affirmations sound?
Daily, you see at least one or two people so pretty that you just feel the need to point it out and let them know that you see them, for the beauty that they are but how often do you tell yourself that you see how beautiful you are?
We’ve all sort of agreed that the motto for the year is “No gree for anybody” and I think for a whole lot of us, it’s ourselves that we need to “not gree for”.
Be your hardest lover that it’s impossible for anyone to not know that you love yourself.
And from this outpour of love, love others with a burning passion and purity that your love leaves a footprint of remembrance in the hearts of everyone you show love too.
Love your friends, love them almost as much as you love yourself and pour as much value as you can into their lives. Friends are the family that we chose for ourselves and it’s only right that we make them feel at home with us.
And if you have a lover, love them with as much passion as you love your friends. Do not hold back on love. Do not hold back when you get a chance to show your affections and if you formally have, it’s a new year after all.
Here’s another chance to do better and go harder while at it.
Live, Love and Breathe.
And have a jolly new year ahead.
