Happy Independence Day Nigeria! October 20, 2020 is the closest we’ve had to political independence. This is for all the lives that were taken in their prime at the Lekki toll gate. We hope our voter’s cards and our thumbs collectively vote in a breath of fresh air in the coming months.
This is a generation crying for help, emigrating to Europe, picking up remote tech jobs as a result of school closure — this is us.
One of the many motivations for creating a safe space was the need for an “age twenty somethings” movement where we can network, tolerate, and be here for the group in a world that isn’t particularly favourable to those trying to figure life out. More importantly, a safe space for everyone irrespective of left or right views, for startup folks and nine-to-fivers, “ballers and mechanics”, ethnic and sexual minorities: all of us.
